Unstaking

PreviousStep-by-step to bridge uniBTCNextStep-by-step to unstake uniBTC

Last updated 2 months ago

Unstaking function is still under development

Unstaking uniBTC takes 8 days to process, during which your selected wrapped BTC will be unlocked. Once the unlock period is complete, you can claim your tokens by transferring them to your wallet.

Features & Limitations

Bedrock guarantees a 1:1 ratio between uniBTC and the selected wrapped BTC. Users have the flexibility to choose from the available wrapped BTC options when exiting.

Please note that once the withdrawal is successfully completed, the withdrawn assets will no longer be eligible to earn rewards or points, which are exclusively associated with uniBTC tokens.

Supported networks and wrapped BTCs

It's a good idea to check the official Bedrock dApp to find the latest supported networks and accepted assets before next step.

Note: The initial network supported for unstaking is the Ethereum Mainnet. This rollout will be guided by careful evaluation of on-chain activity, user demand, and the unique characteristics of each network. As additional networks are enabled, we will keep users informed through timely updates and announcements in Bedrock Community.

Withdrawal fees

Current withdrawal fee: 0.5%

Latest update: 10 Mar 2025

Note: The fee is primarily attributed to the costs associated with staking and unstaking processes within the Babylon protocol. These operational costs arise from the underlying mechanics and resources required to facilitate these transactions effectively. Additionally, as Babylon is still in its early stages, the fee structure reflects the need to support the protocol’s development, maintenance, and scaling during this critical phase.

We aim to reduce fees where possible to benefit our users while ensuring the sustainability and growth of the protocol. We will keep users informed through timely updates and announcements in Bedrock Community.

Cap

There is cap per chain of avaible withdraw-able wrapped BTC.

The cap will be reflected in real-time in the UI, the bridge request will be rejected if exceeding the available quota.

Blacklist

To safeguard the integrity of the entire ecosystem and protect uniBTC, Bedrock has implemented a blacklist mechanism within the withdrawal contract. This blacklist is designed to include addresses identified as suspicious or associated with known malicious activities, such as hacking or fraudulent behavior. Addresses on this list will be restricted from withdrawing their requested tokens to mitigate risks to the ecosystem.

Disclaimer:

  • The blacklist is maintained to uphold the security and trustworthiness of the platform.

  • Bedrock relies on its internal monitoring systems and third-party reports to identify suspicious activities. However, this process is not infallible, and there is a possibility of errors.

  • If your address is mistakenly added to the blacklist, you can contact Bedrock’s support team to resolve the issue through a formal review process.

  • Bedrock does not have control over the underlying blockchain network; this mechanism only applies within the scope of the Bedrock platform and contracts.

  • Users are encouraged to act responsibly and ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines while interacting with the ecosystem.
